Even muggles will appreciate this magical Facebook feature.
Here’s some news that will undoubtedly make you feel old: It’s been 20 years since Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was first published. Yes, 26th Monday marks a massive two decades since the young wizard apparated into our lives, and we just don’t know where the time has gone.
If you’re wondering how to celebrate this landmark, the good people at Facebook have the answer. The social media platform has launched a magical feature in honour of this momentous occasion. What’s more, it’s Siriusly easy to use to do.
How to Cast a Harry Potter Spell on Facebook
The Harry Potter Facebook feature means that you can cast your very own spell (okay, not really but you get the picture) on your Timeline. If you’ve always suspected that your letter from Hogwarts got lost in the post, it’s time to finally prove it by showing off your wandwork.
1) Write the words ‘Harry Potter’ as your Facebook status
Simply write these two words, or get a little more creative and write something about the books that includes ‘Harry Potter’. For example, you might put “OMG the Harry Potter books are 20 years old!”
You can also include the words Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff or Slytherin.
2) Post Your Status
To cast the spell, go ahead and post your status. You should then witness a pretty cool animation.
This is the best thing Facebook has ever done 😍✨⚡️You click on Harry Potter and a wand, sparks and lightning all appear! It’s magic! pic.twitter.com/67BpzfWhIY

3) Replay by Clicking the Highlighted Word
Once you’ve posted your status, you will see that the words ‘Harry Potter’ have turned into a red link. Ooh, mysterious! You just need to click on the link to watch the magic happen again…
Similarly, on Twitter, using the hashtag #HarryPotter20 generates a special emoji.
